The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Access to Education Undergraduate Scholarships program offers awards made up of support for the tuition fee and living costs for students holding an offer of a place on an LSE undergraduate program whose immigration status is classed as: an asylum-seeker, a refugee, a person with humanitarian protection, or a person who is resident in the United Kingdom and has been granted Discretionary/Limited Leave to Remain in the U.K.
The minimum level of support will cover the difference between the U.K. tuition fee (£9,250) and the overseas fee charged under current fee rules (equivalent to a partial fee waiver). This minimum amount is not means-tested if you are assessed to pay the overseas fee level.
For 2021 entry, the maximum award was worth up to £20,635, depending on financial need. This is made up of the amount required to cover the payment of the remaining tuition fee and up to £11,385 for maintenance. This part of the scholarship is means-tested and will take into account the ability to access funding from the U.K. government.
Deadlines: The deadline for submitting a scholarship application is 27 April 2021. The deadline for applying for admission to LSE is 29 January 2021 at 18:00 U.K. time.
Students in one of the following categories are eligible to be considered for one of these scholarships:
– Asylum seekers, children of asylum seekers or unaccompanied asylum-seeking children who are seeking asylum in the U.K. and who are holding an offer for an undergraduate place at LSE.
