Description:

Qatar University offers scholarships that are merit-based and need-based to students from Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which cover tuition fees, accommodation, and related fees. 

Types of scholarships:

1. Scholarships for non-Qatari students of a Qatari mother or a Qatari father. 

These scholarships are offered by the University to non-Qatari students of a Qatari mother or a Qatari father. These scholarships include exemption from tuition fees only.

2. Qatar University Scholarships for graduates of the Qatar high school system. 

These scholarships are offered by the University to the best new high school graduates who attain high averages in the Qatari Secondary Education Examinations. Ten male and ten female scholarships are awarded each year. These Scholarships include exemption from tuition fees and book fees.

3. Qatar University Scholarships for Gulf States Students.

These scholarships are offered by the University to students of GCC countries who hold the High School Certificate or its equivalent in their countries or any other country with the exception of the State of Qatar. A number of scholarships are allocated to each GCC country. Such scholarships can be postponed to the second term in the same academic year but not to the next academic year. These scholarships include exemption from tuition fees and receive free accommodation from the University.

Eligibility:

1. Scholarships for non-Qatari students of a Qatari mother or a Qatari father.

Applicants must:

– Meet the admission requirements for the college and major that they applied to.

– Present a photocopy of the student’s mother’s or father’s Qatar ID card and copy of the student’s birth certificate.

2. Qatar University Scholarships for graduates of the Qatar high school system.  

Applicants must:

– Hold a Qatari secondary education certificate.

– Have a minimum average of 95% in the secondary school certificate.

– Be a secondary school graduate in the same year in which the scholarship application is made.

– Register in Fall semester. These scholarship awards are only made in the Fall semester.

3. Qatar University Scholarships for Gulf States students.

Applicants must:

– Obtain a letter from the embassy addressed to Qatar University requesting consideration for this specific scholarship.

– Meet the admission requirements for the college and major that they applied to.

– Students who applied to majors taught in English as a first or second preference must demonstrate proficiency in English and Mathematics by satisfying the minimum competency requirements by submitting IELTS (5.5) and SAT (570) or ACT (24).
