Description
The Tongarewa Scholarships of Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington, in New Zealand, celebrate the university’s commitment to its international student community. The awards are partial scholarships that go towards tuition fees for one year of study. Applicants can be either entering their first year of an undergraduate degree or entering a postgraduate degree programme at the university.
The Tongarewa Scholarships are awarded competitively on the basis of academic excellence. Short-listed candidates may be requested to provide additional information to support their application.
Up to 10 scholarships of 10,000 New Zealand dollars (about $6,790 US) will be available to both undergraduate and postgraduate recipients, and up to 9 scholarships of NZ $5,000 will be available to postgraduate recipients only.
Scholarship recipients are guaranteed an offer of a place in university housing, provided an accommodation application is received by the deadline.

Eligibility:
– Be international students who are paying full international fees.
– Be entering their first year of an undergraduate degree or entering a postgraduate degree.
– Have obtained relevant certifications required for admission into Victoria University of Wellington.
– Demonstrate excellent academic potential.
