Tongarewa Scholarships at Victoria University

Description

The Tongarewa Scholarships of Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington, in New Zealand, celebrate the university’s commitment to international students. 

The awards are partial scholarships that go towards tuition fees for one year of study, beginning next fall. Applicants can be either entering their first year of an undergraduate degree or entering a postgraduate degree programme at the university.

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence. 

Up to 10 scholarships of 10,000 New Zealand dollars (about $5,650 US) will be available to both undergraduate and postgraduate recipients. Up to nine scholarships of 5,000 New Zealand dollars will be available to postgraduate recipients only. 

Tuition fees vary between faculties and are calculated on the courses you take. For a list of all estimated programme fees, see the Programme Information brochure.

Scholarship recipients are guaranteed a place in university housing, provided an accommodation application is received by the deadline.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

– Be international students who are paying full international fees.

– Be entering their first year of an undergraduate degree or entering a postgraduate degree.

– Have obtained relevant certifications required for admission into Victoria University of Wellington.

– Demonstrate excellent academic potential.
