The University of the People’s Emergency Refugee Assistance Scholarship Fund has allocated funding for 500 scholarships for refugees, predominantly those from Syria.
The University of the People offers online, accredited degree programmes to any qualified applicant. Tuition is free, but application and test fees bring the cost of completing a bachelor’s degree to around $4,000. The scholarships for refugees will cover these costs, making attendance completely free.
Scholarship recipients will have up to ten Assessment Fees funded. Upon completion of the funds awarded, students may apply for another scholarship, and thus potentially cover the entire cost of a two-year associate or four-year bachelor’s degree.
Opportunities for providing a stipend depend on available funds; students must inquire about that with the admission office.
